Iphone probem, please help?

I have brought my boyfriend a Iphone off of ebay (brand new) but its on orange and he is on 02. So if i pay to get it unlocked, will that work? And someone said that if i put another sim card in the phone then it will lock and cant be used again? Please help, i haven't got a clue!! Thank you very much.

Once it has been unlocked to any network it will work with any sim card put into it.. It could cost about £15 to unlock. good luck.
