Iphone not texting to T-Mobile

Hi all. Has anyone had any issues with either their AT&T phones in general, or their Iphone specifically not being able to text to a T-Mobile device?

I recently switched from Verizon to T-Mobile (taking a new phone number in the process) and now three of my friends who use Iphones can't text me. When they try, they get a bounce back message. Texting between their Iphones and my Verizon one work fine, and they are able to receive messages from my Sidekick without trouble, but replies bounce back.

Has anyone heard of this or had this problem, and if so are there any simple solutions (such as settin changes)? Any help is greatly appreciated!
 
I have an iPhone myself. Just certain people I text, I get what you called a bounce back message, and the other side never receives my text. It's upsetting because one of these contacts is my boyfriend and I spend a lot of time texting friends instead of calling.


But it's good to know I am not the only one with this problem. I thought it had to do with not putting the zip code in, but once I did that, nothing changed. I still can't text them. But yeah, I just called my boyfriend and asked what carrier he's on.. T-Mobile.
 
Actually, it isn't related to the specific carrier...it is almost any GSM carrier in general have issues texting another GSM carrier. GSM carriers are the ones that use SIM Cards, primarily T-Mobile and AT&T in the USA.

It is just the type of technology it is...it is more voice focused or something like that.
