iPhone help?! How do you take a photo of your screensaver?

On my iPhone I have a photo of family. I took some pictures today on the camera on the phone. When I looked later at the photos, a photo was taken of My screensaver, with the photo, the time taken, The scroll arrow... It looks exactly like my phone looks when it's locked not in use. How did I do this?
