Iphone - fm transmitter

will a regular fm transmitter i can get at radio shack work with an iphone? or is the headphone jack different?

the headset jack is different, but you can buy a $9 adapter jack at the Apple Store. personally I use a cassette adapter with my iphone and it works great

I wonder how the iPhone would effect an FM transmitters? Every once in while when I walk by a speaker, I get some major feedback because of the iphone.
