Iphone application development as career?

Hi all,

I'm currently employed in a very good software company (Work Exp 5years). But i want to leave that and start a career on Iphone application development. Though i'm very much interested in mobile application development, i dont have any experience in this.
What do u guys feel ? Is there a future for mobile application development ? Is it worth it to risk my career ?
