iphone 4 or iphone 3gs?

so my impression is pretty much broken. texts wont be recieved for 10-15 minutes, texts dont go through 2 out of 3 times and im just fed up. the other day i was with some of my friends and my mom was going to pick us up. i didnt get the text that she was there until 20 mins after she sent it. when we got in the car she was not happy. but after i told her the story she understood. a couple of my friends than started sayin i should get an iphone and they handed me theirs. i looked into them today and they seem pretty cool. my parents disabled internet on my phone so i wouldnt be getting it throught AT&T. my friend has a mint 32 gig 3gs in his closet (his dad got him the iphone 4 for christmas and his mom regifted the 3gs she got a year or two ago) he said hed part with for 300. my dilema is for another 100-200 i could get an iphone 4 through the apple store and have a more in date phone that would last me forever. im pretty much sure im going to get an iphone because im tired of carrying around both my ipod and phone. it would be nice to have them both in one device. help would be great. thanks
