iphone 4 on T-mobile?

I have an unlocked iphone 4 from over sea and the sim card is cut to become micro SIM card already.I try to use iphone 4 in USA. It doesn't work and shows me no SIM. However, I tried to put the SIM back to the other cell phone, and it works. So I'm not sure if iphone 4 has problem to use T-mobile' SIM card. Who can tell me what's the problem or how can I make iphone 4 to work well on T-mobile? Thanks
