Iphone 3GS unlock & jailbreak help for T-Mobile?

Okay, I Don't Know much about I-Phones, but my friend is giving me his Iphone 3GS because he got a new blackberry that he likes better.

I have T-Mobile, what would I have to do in order to be able to put my Tmobile SIM card running on this Iphone. Can someone tell me step by step what I need to do? PLEASE (I know it is possible)
