I'm helping a friend upgrade his iPhone 3GS from a jailbroken 3.1.2 to an unjailbroken 4.2.1
When I press restore on iTunes, it goes through the entire restore process but throws at me error 1015 right before the entire restore is complete. Now the iPhone is in recovery mode and still gives me this problem.
I understand this code is only recieved when trying to downgrade or upgrade to a firmware not signed by Apple, but I'm restoring straight to the newest version.
Also, I have tried restarting the PC and I'm already running on the latest iTunes version.
Apple also suggested using a different computer to do the job. I doesn't look like it'll help, but what do you guys think?
Also I'm running Windows 7, if that helps.
Any help on this topic is appreciated.
