Basically what the title is. I'm saving up for an iPhone 3gs (not an iPhone 4 because frankly, I like the 3gs better). Right now at AT&T the iPhone 3gs is $49. I have approximately $50 saved, so I'm good there. I was curious as to if you have to pay the $20 unlimited texting difference plus the $30 unlimited data difference right there on the spot right as you pay for the actual iPhone itself.
I'm with Verizon, but our contract ends this May, and I was going to try to convince my mom to switch to AT&T then (my dad is all for it, he has the iPhone 3gs and is with AT&T). But I did read somewhere that you can get a new number for AT&T, and pay Verizon $10 a month until your contract expires and then quit that service (but you're actually using AT&T, calling and texting and all that). so I was curious if that was true, because I don't want to pay the $175 early cancellation fee for early contract cancellation for both my brother and my mom's phone, as well as mine. So can someone help me out with these questions about the iPhone 3gs, and any other information I should know?
