Iphone 3GS Cannot Be Restored!?

My daughter locked me out of my 3GS and has now disabled my device. When I connect it to iTunes, it says that it cannot be restored because it is not eligible. The laptop which I first used with this iPhone is not working at the moment and so I don't know what to do. I tried to put it in DFU mode to try to fix it but no luck. Also, when I connect it to iTunes, the serial number does not show up. PLEASE HELP ASAP!!
