iPhone 3Gs 4.0.1 can't be restored due to error 1013

Hi. Got a 3Gs a few weeks ago that came in "restore mode" (back then 4.0 was barely released) Since I don't know any history of it and I didn't want to risk the chance of taking the "unlocked" status away so I start off with using "blackra1n" to see if I can reboot. Then the phone didn't respond at all and stayed in restore mode so I decided to just go ahead and update with 4.0. At first it seems to be working because the processing bar underneath the apple was moving fine until when it's only 1mm away from finish, then the bar will freeze for a little while and iTunes shows "Unknown error 1013" and phone jumps right back to restore mode.

I've tried several times and keep getting the same result until yesterday I finally used iH8sn0w to get it out of the restore mode. Then right away I noticed the phone has 4.0 wall paper in the back with emergency call only. No receptions because it keeps searching then the phone restarts again with "Repair needed.. can't make / receive calls message" so this time I tried to update with 4.0.1 but it just went back to the nightmare of "Restore Mode"!!

Before I end up killing the phone entirely is there anything else I can do? Or is this an obvious hardware issue and I should just stop any software repair??

i got same problem of Unknown error 1013 for version 4.0.1 who can help to revival even normal without unlock the carrier is o2
 
Thank you very much for the quick reply zakiyyboss. But I already tried DFU mode before the regular Restore.

Can you please elaborate on what you meant by WIFI damage??
 
since your phone is already locked again, why don't you just go to apple and get a replacement.
unless it is dropped or water damaged they will exchange a new one for you, since the phone is not even out for a year yet.
