tested the new unlocking method on 3g and works great but having trouble with the 3gs it wont unlock do i need to do something different

chech its bbot room f it is old use Spirit .if it is new try to downgrde it and then jailbreak it using spirit too

Yes, it is possible to jail break and unlock any modem version of 3G and 3Gs. Even it is possible 3G of V4. But, not possible 3Gs of V4.
