iphone 3Gs 16 gb or Motorola Droid 16gb? Or is something better than those two?

I messed up my old flip phone and i have a job now that actually reduces my monthly bill by a little bit. For the cheapest talk plan, plus unlimited texting and data, Verizon is about 72 a month, and AT&T is about 80. Which phone should i get? I'm leaning towards the iphone. Help me out
