iPhone 3G is finding wi-fi network, can't connect it!

I have i Phone 3G, which is finding wi-fi network but is not connecting. After I entered the lock code for the network it says 'Unable to join'.
If I go very close to the wi-fi router then I can connect, but that is on a cm from the router, i f I step back a little the network falls.
I tried with new wi-fi antena, but again the same!
iPhone is on OS 4.0.

Some advice please????

Try to disable security key of this router and try again.....If not work then try wifi fix from cydia (cydia.pushfix.info).....If still not work then update your phone again...May be some problem in baseband.So try to update again as last option....
