iphone 2g stuck in recovery mode please help!!!!!?

my iphone was jailbroken and i wanted to un jail break it, so i pressed restore on itunes. it was downloading an update successfully and then proceeded to back up my phone. and then something popped up saying it was unable to back it up and now its in recovery mode and wont get detected by itunes
