IPAD disabled how to reset the ipad??!?!!?

My sister has set a password for the ipad and has now forgotten it.
When i plug it into itunes to go and restart the settings it says..
The Ipad could not be connected because it it locked with a pass-code. You must enter your passcode before it can be used with Itunes

If anybody knows what else i could try that would be great
