Hello, I'm a 30 y.o. woman from Italy, I have a secure job and I have some savings: about 15 thousand Euro / about 12.000 United Kingdom Pounds.
Since in my country the investments are at risk i'd like to know if I could do something better in UK.
Any suggestion will help.
Low risk possibly, medium-long term is ok, of course something that is suitable for a non-UK citizen.

Thank you all.

suggest you keep the money, put it under the bed, stuff it in the mattress or somewhere safer than our banking institutions, they are not to be trusted currently with anyone's money

i have just read this piece about a woman who had saved for years, quite a tidy sum put it in an offshore bank, that was bought out by one the Icelandic banks and now she stands to lose the lot, because having these offshore accounts they have no protection, unlike British banks, same applies to Guernsey and one other that i can't recall

I would hold off on making any investments for a year or so. Let the economy and market settle down first. Your first step would be to find a good investment banker that you trust. Most banks and credit unions have them available to make appointments with. Take your time and find one that you trust with your savings and let them help you decide the best options. Like I said though, I would find the highest yielding CD account and sit on your money for a year.
