Introductory Alltel Smartphone

Looking at upgrading from Samsung Flip to a a smartphone. Any guidance on the 3 lower tier handsets available currently from Alltel. Samsung Gem, HTC Wildfire or Blackberry Curve? Any comments appreciated.
