Intestinal Spasms

I have had issues with constipation and severe pain after eating for most of my life, but I have had a new symptom start lately and I'm not sure if I should be worried about it.

I've been having what I believe are intestinal spasms. I researched intestinal spasms and have found that they are almost always coupled with moderate to severe pain. Lately, after I eat anything I begin having painless spasms in what i assume is my large intestine. It is happening in the mid abdomen region on my right side. As I said, they aren't painful, they're just a bit unsettling and I'm not sure if i should have it checked out.

If anyone has any insight I would greatly appreciate it.

I have been having painful spasms and sometimes nausea for about two weeks. It all started with what I thought was a bout of lactose intolerance- induced pain and diahrrea and NAUSEA too.

Instead of getting over it in a day like I usually do, I have had terrible gas and intestinal spasms for two weeks. I felt as if I had a blockage so I have had enemas, and avoided anything that wasn't soft food. Finally a few days ago I turned a corner and feel better.

However, now I have what you are describing as a painless spasm in the lower left quadrant. Opposite of yours.
It is on my left side at the turn of the colon. Feels a little like a gas pocket.

Sounds like IBS. I have this on and off. It is not fun. I am trying to figure out how to keep in under control. It really can be a diet issue. I try to avoid dairy, or at least kinds that are hard to digest. It is hard on your colon. When I steer clear things seem to get better.

Hang in there and consult a physician if need be.
