Interracial Relationships and controversy?

I'm African-American (in addition to other things but that's another story), 19 years old and my boyfriend is German (in additon to other things but mostly German) and the same age (but a few months older). We are in rural Mansfield, PA and interracial relationships is common. BUT we get dirty looks from others who're in interracial relationships as well but of the reverse (black guys/white girls)!
