I have a 25 litre tropical tank with 3 mollies, 2 rams and a honey gourami. On Saturday (just gone), I bought the 2 rams and the gourami and after adding them to the tank I noticed the larger ram of the pair had a ragged tail. Sunday morning I rang the pet shop and they asked questions and basically, said that the tail would repair in good quality water (which I have). After the phone conversation I then noticed the smaller ram had a small bottom part of it's tail gone and white around the area. I didn't bother ringing the pet store again. I went to my local place and bought Interpet Anti Fungus & Fin rot treatment.
I got home followed instructions (especially the carbon remove one) and added treatment. This was on Monday and since then the tail hasn't got any worse but, also hasn't improved. All the fish seem fine in personality. I just wondered if anyone knew how long the treatment normally takes to start working and/or other ways to help my fish recover.
Also = Since, adding the treatment my honey gourami has got a pinprick size line of black spots all along the top of her head and topline of her back. Is this a treatment side-affect?
