Internet for the Motorola Droid?

I have a few questions about the Droid:
1. Someone told me that if you have a gmail account you don't need to pay for internet on the Droid. Is this true?
2. If you do have to pay for internet; how much does it cost?
3. Is the Droid worth it?

-Thanks!

1. False. If that's the case, then everyone would just create a Gmail account, and everyone would have free web browsing.

2. All smartphones at Verizon have a mandatory data plan of $30/mth.

3. Yes! I've had the Droid for about 2 months now, and I'm absolutely loving everything about it. The screen is a perfect size, and with its Gorilla Glass, it's not easily prone to scratches. If you get one, I'd just recommend a hard body case, such as a Seidio case, but a screen cover is not necessary, unless you're compulsively obsessed and worried over your phone. If you plan to get a Seidio case, since it fits the Droid like a glove, buy it on Ebay; it's a few bucks cheaper than buying it on the official website. Just a warning though-- the keypad takes time to get used to (like every other phone), but just a heads up because it might disappoint you in the beginning. Oh, and surfing the web is a breeze too! It's quick & the display's perfect.
