interior painting for our first home?

We are going to buy our first home, and we want to paint the interior before we move in, also we are planning to buy furniture too. So should i match the color with my furniture? should i buy furniture first, then paint or the other way or doesn't matter? Its my first timer and im all excited but i dont know where to start from... Plzzzzz help.. Also suggestions are invited for picking colors for the different areas.
 
Furniture 1st -not an option .But do suggest you flip through a few decorating magazines or web sites first and pick the rooms you like best ,Then compare all your favorites most likely you'll have a theme- some similarity in them all .Start there- then shop -then paint.If you need more assistance from there we'll be here for you .congratulations on your new home
