Yay, Johnny to the rescue.. Thnx Johnny

"thats a lot of options for free minutes. so you can talk it up as much as you want without having to worry about minutes overages and large bills something that is very much needed with the economy today"

Unless the UMA drops the call and you unknowingly call back and talk while on edge. That has happened to me alot lately. Haven't dropped the landline because of that. But I still have hotspot..

thanks. i've just been overwhelmed with stuff at work so it feels great to be back. i havent had many issues with wifi at all, just when my router went down and that was it. the t-mobile @home calling is a great option if you want to save some money with the landline.
unlimited calling @ home 10$/monthly

I was wondering about the @home phone line. If you get that, do you still need to pay for hotspot? Or is that included in the @home plan?

Hope this helps the OP as well in deciding to go with TMO or not.

it should help out the op big time. unlimited nationwide calling from home 10$ unlimited calling from your mobile when connected to wifi 10$ unlimited blackberry data and text 35$ (25$ for 400text and unlimited data) plus you minutes. great savings.

you would still need the feature on the mobile devices for the hotspot calling.

That would not be cool at all! I guess I'd have to keep an eye on which network it was calling from. Does is display UMA or EDGE depending on which? I am guessing.

T-mobile is so tempting with those prices!

I have been on TMO for 11 years and have a Curve. I have a number of businesses in Denver and a few a so close to a Starbucks that I jump on their Hotspot with no problems and no charges. I run at home on a standard Qwest wireless modem and Wifi browsing is great. I am running 4.5 os and the switch from Wifi to Edge is seamless. I live at 7600 feet and have weather related problems that have nothing to do with TMO(like 200 inches of snow or wind speeds over 60 mph). There are a lot of hard feelings about TMO from the old days but their customer service is great now. I am a top 5% customer and just got a free plane ticket from them as part of that promotion they ran over Xmas. I have had phone failure while traveling on business and had them Fedex a phone to my hotel at no charge. They keep me happy.

it does display uma when connected to wifi and edge when you aren't. however if you start a call on wifi and it moves to edge that will still be a free call until the call is disconnected
