Hi, I am a 53 yr. old woman who has been having a lot of health problems and severe back pain. I've been to many doctors and they're saying I have bad discs in my whole back and autoimmune disease. I'm on the 3rd medicine, and nothing helps the pain.

I rarely go out because I can't walk or sit long because of pain.

I have developed an intense fear and nervousness. The doctor gave me Cyrabalta, it made me so sick and nauseous I couldn't take it.

Does this sound like anxiety or is it just fear of the pain? I don't know what to do anymore. Can anyone help?

Not sure if maybe it's a side effect of one of the pain meRAB they have you on? Look into it. Buy yourself some tension tamer herbal tea. it helps me alot. Hang in there, we all know how you are feeling.

Hi, thanks for responding, but I'm not on anything except Tylenol, which is part of the problem because I have such pain all the time. For some reason the doctors don't seem to believe me or don't want to give me anything for pain. But thank you so much for answering, I appreciate it.

Hi,
I am a long time sufferer of anxiety and although I do not always have chronic pain, I have had back pain and knee pain and other things which affected the level of fear, anxiety I had. I can tell you that pain is just the external body saying "ouch" and it sounRAB like you are a very sane person asking very reasonable questions. If you do not have a doctor which satisfies your neeRAB, then do not settle. Maybe you could ask someone close to be an advocate with you on Dr. visits.

A therapist once told me nobody knows me like me. Nobody knows you like you, so you are always right about yourself :) Except, when it comes to not being able to control your state of mind. If you have any happy or peaceful experiences or memories all you have to do is think of them as much as possible. There are proven studies about the mind controlling your body. Your cells respond to your brain. What I do is close my eyes each night and imagine cells from my brain down to my toes turning into "relaxation" cells. Slowly I feel almost a warmth throughout my body and each part one by one relaxes. The result is I sleep better and feel 100% better. Back discs are obviously sensative and I understand your pain I really do. But your mind is strong. No need to fear. You are stronger than that and you can tell yourself out loud that you are. I told someone else here that just by posting it shows how much you love yourself.

Also, if it is possible, chiropractors have done wonder with me and old sports injuries in my frame. They are also very friendly and are very schooled in pack pain. My father in law could barely walk and he claims our chiropractor is a miracle worker! He is active again. All of your board frienRAB will be rooting for you! You can have a wonderful life!

Take care,
S
