Pls dont wate your time spamming, This is intended for the computer literate:
specific i5 specs: 2.53 x2 cores 3 lv 2 cache, hyperthreading and turboost up to 3.02
specific i7 specs: 1.73 x 4 cores 6 lv 2 cache, hyperthreading and turboost up to 2.93ghx
use: gaming
i5 advantages: beter in sole cores applications (turbo to 3.02 vs i7's 2.93) up to applications that use 4 cores (2.53x4 vs i7's ~2.33ghx x4)
i7 advantages: twice the l2 cache of the i5 (6mb vs 3 mb) , Extreme multiasking capacities with 8 logical cores.
My comments: The i5 looks a lot more useful. Its more fast in terms of (not taking into account the l2 cache) speed from single cores up to 4 core multiasking. The i7 has EXTREME multiasking capities with 8 logical cores but be REALISTIC; no games/applications use 8 cores of a processor.
The question I pose:
The i5 caosts 100 dolars less than the i7 in OEM upgrades.
Does having twice the l2 cache (i7) outwiegh the real world decrease in speed (1-4 cores) AND the additional price of 100 dolars?
