INSURANCE price

This week I have gotten confirmations from State Farm,
Gieco and Progressive that they WILL NOT insur any bike on any track under any circumstances although
Progressive said it would be up to the claims adjuster.
Yea...like they'll pay out on that one.

My question is who will insur for a track day mishap?

You can tell the others all day long that the damage happened in a street accident but any savvy investigator will eventually see through that charade.

I wish. Next year it will go down dramatically, but this year I'm still screwed, renews in April. Who'd have thought insurance would be a down payment on a small condo???

Is it about 7x what would normally be considered stupid expensive because you have a 20k bike with 40k in parts on it?
Or because its a sport bike?

Actually, the FIRST company called me a few weeks into my policy and DROPPED me, because the agent didn't notice the 'rule' that they don't insure bikes over $50K. I was like, what? OK so just insure the value of the bike. They said no. But at least they refunded every penny I gave them. Next company (I called at least 25 or more companies!) I only told them the value of the bike. There's also a 300% premium on Ducatis with my company, and I was very hard pressed to find anyone to insure me at all. I think it is because of graduated driving here in Ontario. I'm seen as basically the highest risk there is, for absolutely no good reason except statistical numbers on paper...riding a big bore rocket...that's a Ducati...

I am 57 years old, clean driving record, and no crashes. State Farm charges me $204.00 dollars a year for full coverage with $2000 deductible here in Florida for my 2010 848.

tewster2,

50 something here with Clean & No, and I'm paying about that for coverage minus Collision & Uninsured Motorist on my 2002 Aprilia.

Are you sure that's not a 6 month premium you quoted?

If not, what are the magic words to get that rate?
Do you suppose there is a 'break' at 55?

I have Progressive and it's $600 per year. I'm 43 and married with a perfect driving record. I called around to get quotes from other people, but they won't insure my 1098S unless they get to insure the cars too. Liberty Mutual has by far the lowest rates.

Traded a YZF600 with USAA insurance ($390/yr) to an 848 with Allstate at $450/yr with 2 speeding tickets and 1 at-fault accident. I'm stunned at the price, the Gecko quoted me nearly $3000/yr so the Allstate underwriters must have faith that I'm a good boy.
