Installing a Windows Recovery Disc in Boot Camp?

Okay, so I'm using a Windows Vista Recovery disc originally packaged with a Toshiba computer to install Windows Vista on my iMac in Boot Camp. Before starting installation, I'm asked the question whether I want to proceed as the entire contents of my hard drive will be wiped... Is it only going to wipe the contents of the Boot Camp partition or actually the whole original hard drive, OS X etc? Thanks for any help.

You can't use a recovery disc, as that's tied to a specific computer and will not work on a non-Toshiba computer.

It will basically wipe the whole hard drive and restore it to how it was when you bought the (Toshiba) computer. But it won't work, because you're not installing it on a Toshiba.

If you want to install Vista on your Mac, you must use a generic Microsoft Windows Vista installation disc, NOT a manufacturer specific recovery disc.
