questions first to make sure it the solenoid thats not working.
ive had past probelems with my transmission and now a year afterwards buying a used transmission, im having problems with my reverse and my 4th gear. it doesnt shift into 4th gear and my reverse will work for the first hour or so after a couple months of being shut off.
now i went to a mechanic and he has told me that the reverse and 4th gear are on the same solenoid or on the same something and buying the solenoid will fix it ( well he said 50 percent chance it will fix it).
Before all this happened it was almost impossible to get out of park gear all the time and i would really have to jerk on it to get it out, this was before i got the old transmission i believe( not 100 percent positive when it was tbh).
the reason my 4th gear went out i was driving down the highway 70 miles per hour and all of a sudden it nearly stopped the car jerking my body forward and shutting the car off. now whenever it goes out of 4th gear it will sometimes shut off and coast down the road or it will just drop out of gear and slow down alod.
any thoughts would be great im thinking about trying to put the solenoid into the car myself if i find a handy video on it, i know the solenoid is on the bottom part of the car and it is visible to the naked eye, not sure how easy taht will be though. IT ALL DEPENDS IF THIS IS EVEN WHATS WRONG WITH IT lol thanks alot
