Inspection Stickers SUCK!

You boys have any (good) suggestions for displaying an inspection sticker?
Here in Vir-gin-i-a they "require" them to be seen/ viewed from the left side of the bike ......they don't allow them to be on the forks (course that's not good either) so i get a plate (to stick the thing on) and attach it to the side by the sub-frame.

By the looks of some rides with these "passed" inspections, this is a broke system.

really, the dealer stuck it on the left fork for me so i left it that way. i didnt even bother with the tax sticker lol. virginia is so gay with all their stickers

Tell me brother!
Apparently not many folks feeling the pain....
Ok 26, I'm going to check with the DMV to see about this "must be seen from the left side" thing.

My RC51 has it on the fork, and it's not readily seen because it's behind the fairing. Unless I'm already a violator.

i wouldn't put it on. In indiana they want numbers down the side on your snowmobile. I've owned it for 5 years and rode in indiana and michigan and not one complaint from DNR

In Vermont they are all on the forks. However, most bikes with newer forks (invertied like the 848 and my gsxr) you can't see it anyways. Most people don't get hassled because you can't see it, cruiser riders on the other hand, have a much tougher time because its all left out to see.

Actually, once you've done a few, thye're not a big deal. I've been inspecting bikes for 12 years now, so I've done a few. First, take a heat gun or blow dryer, and heat the sticker good and warm. Not so warm as to harm the surface the sticker is on, just warm enough to soften up the glue. Then peel off the sticker. This will usually result in goo left behind. But it comes off easily. What I use to remove it varies depending on the surface. Brake cleaner or lacquer thinner usually. Comes right off.

Duh!. Ignore that. I quickly read you post and thought you were asking about removal. Display is a different story. Check with the local laws. Some places don't allow a plate unless it's riveted or welded on. Some places will let you get away with bolted on. I've made brackets that bolt on to the license plate frame using the license plate bolts.
