Insomnia

I cannot sleep at night ever. I am on anxiety medication and try to eat healthy but nothing is working. I do the routine things with food and sleep habits, but I still can't sleep. I can't turn my brain off no matter what I do and I constantly have stomach problems. My stomach growls 24/7 despite what and how often I eat, and having acid reflux on top of this does not help. I take medicine for this before I go to bed which used to help me sleep, but now my stomach always growls and my muscles often twitch. I am loosing a lot of fate over the year and yet I maintain a healthy weight. Can you help me at least sleep at night??? I get as much sleep in a month as someone should get in a week.

college: How much caffeine are you consuming to start with? That could cause you problems. I just saw a Dr. Oz show where he was talking about a hormone called Ghrelin.
It causes the stomache growling/noise that tells you when the stomache is empty and needs food. Your body may be releasing insulin and you could be hypoglycemic. Have you ever had your blood sugars tested? There's something called "reactive hypoglycemia" where you get the low blood sugars but aren't diabetic.

You could also try eating a snack before bed with protein in it. Peanut butter, icecream,
nuts, and popcorn are good.

The muscle twitching could be a magnesium deficiency. You could also be low in other vitamins and minerals that could be causing some of this. If you're drinking alot of caffeine that could also reduce your magnesium levels. The nuts for a snack are good because they have magnesium and selenium in them. I used to have twitching under my left eye and I found out I was deficient in magnesium and started taking it and now my eye doesn't twitch.

Do you exercise and eat right? Exercise could help you get tired out. You probably are sleeping more than you think. Some people say that drinking warm milk before bed helps them get to sleep.

You might want to get your hormones checked too. Alot of women in menopause experience insomnia because of the changes in the hormones/brain. I wish I had better solutions for you. This is why people turn to pills to help them sleep. Try not to do that if you can avoid it.

What about doing some meditation before bed to try to calm you down and relax.
If you're in college then you've got alot on your mind.
Good luck.
