Insight into SD and MMD

Read and read but I still can not see the real difference between Secure Digital cards and Multimedial cards.

Seems that the T3 can use both. Any insights
 
SD is faster (usually) and is availible in larger formats.

Its like 802.11a and 802.11b. Its all the same but we use the more recent one becuase its cooler.
 
The MMC cards are thinner, and are spec'ed with simpler (& slower?) interface.

Anything that can take a SD will also work with a MMC.

If a device has an MMC slot, then it CANNOT take SD. This is the way some mobile phones and MP3 players are designed. Have not seen any PDAs that ONLY accept MMC.
 
I'd like everyone to view this link outlined above . . . . take a look at the Panasonic speeds.

I rest my case. Got (if memory serves) 740 on my SD256. Thought it seemed faster!!
