Information Systems (Software Development Level 3) Question?

Hi, I am having trouble with parts b and c mainly. We are doing this unit based on the Royal Oak Hotel which is based in london. Can anyone give me any tips on how to do sections b and c. I am unsure on how i can illustrate information flows, how would i possibly do this? can anyone give me an example or any guidelines. Also I am quite confused on part c, how can quality of business information be improved? i know surveys/questionnaires is on but do you have any other ideas? many thanks for the help.


Task 1
a.Identify, using the internet, at least three separate sources of information that the owner could use to assist her in improving her knowledge of the industry and in understanding the demands of the local market. Discuss how each of these sources can be shown to be reliable and appropriate. Present your findings in a table using the following headings:

•Type of Information – qualitative, quantitative, primary, secondary.
•Source – Publisher, Journal, Title, Web Address.
•Presentation – how it is laid out
•Relevance – pertinence to the hotel
•Method – data collection techniques used
•Provenance – where the information originated; has it been altered ?
•Timeliness – age of the information.
•Use – how the business could use the information.

b.Illustrate the information flow between different functional areas of the Royal Oak Hotel.

c.Explain how the Royal Oak Hotel and similar organisations could improve the quality of its business information.
