Information about art education degrees?

I've spent a lot of money on student loans and all I have is an associates degree in Graphic Design, which I do not use,I work somewhere completely un related to the field that I am interested in, I wasn't planning on stopping half way like that but that's how it worked. Any way I was looking into UIC's Art Ed program that they have, I would love to register in that program I am really just not sure if it will be worth it, I am not looking for something to make me a ton of money, I just want to enjoy my career for the rest of my life and I love helping people figure out what their passionate about. I am 20 yrs old and my main goal is just to not waste any more time than I have to. A Bachelors in Fine arts education seems like even if I cant find a job as an art teacher I can find one as a graphic arts teacher or an art director or at least something I will be interested in. My question is for all you [art] teachers is it worth it, was it IMPOSSIBLE to find a job, and is it realistic.
