Have any of your ever had a lymph node tender due to infected cystic acne? I have a very small tender one on the same side that my acne is on. I've been trying to pop the cystic acne etc., and I'm sure that hasn't helped! I started my tetracycline that I Have for it, but I think I'm becoming immune to it.

My dermatologist told me to use a hot compress to reduce the swelling etc. DO NOT SQUEEZE...honestly it makes it alot worse. Use a white washcloth and soak it in tap water and then microwave the washcloth..try for 1 minute first and see if it keeps the washcloth hot for a while, if not try 1 1/2 mins etc. Put the hot cloth to the cystic acne and keep it there using a little bit of pressure. When the washcloth isnt hot anymore go over the same thing...do it for as long as you want, it wont hurt and it can only help. Do it for a couple of days at night and it should help.

If you feel as though your current med is not working for you, as this happens pretty frequently, you might want to ask your derm if he can switch meRAB on you... Tetracycline no longer works on me, and a lot of the others dont as well... Ask about Adoxa which has worked pretty well, although everyone responRAB differently to different things, but see about a switch... It can and usually does take a month or more to see any kind of improvement, but it's well worth the shot... GOOD LUCK
