Indy 4 Going Ahead?

Steven Spielberg and George Lucas have approved the script for Indiana Jones 4. They hope to have Indiana Jones 4 filming in early 2006 but have to wait until Harrison Ford approves of the script until its officially happening.The script is said to feature a new, younger sidekick for the aged Doctor Jones!
 
How old is Harrison Ford anyway? You would think he's a bit too old for this sort of film wouldn't you. Still, I'm not complaining, I think he's a brilliant actor and I've loved all of the Indiana Jones films so far.
 
I think Ford is now too old to play Indy Jones. I think they should have got someone younger to play the part and have Ford become Indy's Father.

I thought the actor who was in The Mummy would make a good Indy Jones.
 
Yes, Ford is getting on, but what they can do with makeup and image trickery is amazing these days.

Indy Jones was always meant to be a rough, craggy, worn character anyway, and who the hell else could play Indiana Jones??? It just wouldn't be the same without Ford.

The new movie (in a timeline) will obviously have to be set after Indy 3, so there may not even be Nazi's in it (set after the war?), so they may well get away with it. Unless they are planning Indy 5,6 etc, there is no point bringing in a new 'replacement' as a sidekick. Anyway, once Ford finally hangs up his hat and whip, there is no-one who could really fill his shoes. He IS the only Indiana!
 
I'd expect the new film to be set in the early 50s. Anyone know of any mystical happenings around that time?
Also in the Young Indy TV series we saw a much older Indy (explaining his early life). The actor wore an eyepatch, so he'll probably lose an eye at some point in the new film.
 
By all accounts this Indy will be Indy as a much older person (as someone mentioned in the 50's) so Ford wont have to worry too much
 
It has to be Harrison Ford playing Indy but it would be a good idea to have a younger sidekick. Have you heard the rumours of the working title for Indy 4 that is Indiana Jones and The Opal Of The Merman Price!
 
Sorry I mistyped that as it should have been Indiana Jones and The Opel Of The Merman Prince. However I would expect that to be changed before it is released!
