Indians, why do you love cricket?!!!?

The game is absolutely dreadful. Okay it's not bad, in fact I quite enjoy playing it myself. What I can't understand is why indians refuse to love football. Why do you prefer cricket!
Im talking about real football. Not the fake stuff they play here in the states
 
because it is very interesting and it is played as a big game between many countries and in football mainly its not a famous game and we didn't here like in football our country had won etc.
