Incredible vs evo vs staying with t-mobile.

Basically like the title says, I'm on t-mobile and have the mytouch 1.2 but the latest offerings from t-mo aren't really cutting it for me. I've been checking out the Droid incredible and I'm digging the bigger screen, snapdragon processor, better camera, android 2.1 and all that good stuff! Verizon's network is much better than t-mo's where I live, but also more expensive. It'd be $120 vs $85, more expensive but it might be worth it. I'm also thinking about the htc evo, but I would have to get sprint which I'm not too crazy about but the evo's supposed to be insane. I'm not happy with the dropped calls and slow web on t-mo. I do like t-mo, but with the lackluster phones coming out (not saying the phones suck, just not anything that interests me). Any thoughts? Should I wait or should I just get the incredible or evo?

If you want the Evo I would wait a bit just because it is a new phone. T-Mobile has something a phone in the works for HSPA+ but nothing has been announced yet.. I'm waiting for all of the cards to be on the table. If network coverage is the main problem you should switch solely for that reason alone and not a shiny new phone.

t-mobile has a few devices coming up so I would wait. you can get a nexus one if you want one asap. I think you should stay with the mytouch for a few months snap dragon its nice to have I have a HD2 but to be honest I had the Touch pro 2 and the g1 and it really doesnt make alot of difference. I wouldnt make a jump to verizon or sprint 1. more expensive for verizon and maybe sprint. 2 their not GSM so in the future if you want to buy an unlock phone you cant and your stuck to their phones to me thats a minus for both.

@ifone3g, I was considering the evo cause it's a powerhouse phone but the downside is I'd have to be on sprint, their network is great but I was with them for awhile and they overcharged me like crazy way back when. Verizon's coverage is soo much better in my area so I wouldn't be leaving just for a super awesome shiny phone, lol. However the $120 a month is a bit of a kick in the pants, not out of my range but still... I considered staying with T-Mo hoping the network gets better and wait for them to come out with something like the Incredible and Evo, cause the Mytouch Slide wont cut it for me but it doesnt look like that will happen for some time. @Jose1983, I dont care so much about leaving GSM cause I dont buy unlocked phones, so CDMA is ok for me. I've been with T-Mo for some time and hate to break a contract cause for the most part they've been one of the better companies to deal with but when I'm at work or out somewhere and I have no bars and my brochachos have 2 or 3 bars its kinda annoying, lol

My local network has seen some major improvements these past 12 months but that doesn't mean yours has or will at all. They plan on adding more 3G sites, and they have added new towers in lots of new cities but obviously not yours because things are still poor. I was just speaking of the myTouch Slide to tide you over until they get something that competes with the Incredible and Evo because they do have something like that coming, from Samsung at the least (4" AMOLED smartphone, aka Galaxy S). UMA is also coming to Android but really, if the coverage isn't working out for you I can't see why you should stay?

not sure about your situation, but i'm jumping ship. i've been off contract with tmo for over 11 years. local rep stated that we would be lucky if 3g ever came to our area. fortunately it did. unfortunately it's only one town that i hardly ever go to and is about 30 minutes away. edge speeds are really starting to suck, especially with other carriers having 3g in all areas here. luckily, i'm also in one of sprint's 4g areas. at the rate tmo is rolling out 3g here, i might as well jump ship if i want faster data now. doesn't matter if hspa + is coming "soon". they would probably only have in the 3g town anyways.

don't get me wrong, i've rarely had dropped calls with them and their customer service has always been great. and i really like that i can contact them 24/7. other than that, i think my needs has outgrown what they can provide me in my area today.

You have a point ifone3g, I think i probably will be getting the Incredible cause it really is more of a network issue. Thanks for the replys :-)

I heard about sprint having some weird data plan and their not as cheap its like 90 bucks maybe 100 with taxes and 30 more if you wanna tether with your phone.

Theirs a deal with sprint for 70.00 unlimited everything but the catch is if they call you from a landline its not unlimited that a big difference still if someone calls you for a conference call.

100 for the unliminted everything

I pay
45.00 unlimited calling land and mobile
20.00 data
10.00 text
= 75.00 but i been a loyal customer for t-mobile since 2003, I was going to make the jump to sprint until I saw I didnt really saved any money and t-mo reception its not bad at all in los angeles.

What is better for you - good coverage or a cool device? You need to decide that question for yourself. For me, I always go for good coverage over a cool looking device. What good is the coolness if you can't use it when and where you need it?

I'm with you. If TMo doesn't get a bump on 3g speed and better phones soon I will probably move on to Verizon. Plus they have the NFL tv apps. Goodbye Tmo. You were the first to adopt Android and then fumbled the ball.
