Increased appetite?

I would say your body is craving protein then! Hey, it's better than carbs! lol Protein builds muscle! Do a little toning work and those few pounds will turn into definition in your shape!

My guess is that you've now lost enough weight (more than a few pounds) that your metabolism is saying, What the hey? I better make her hungry so I can get her weight back to where it was!

That is why diets don't work for most people and why increasing exercise doesn't even always work (it increases your appetite.)

I have come to the conclusion the only solution is to permanently change what you're eating, in a way that encourages you to feel full.

So instead of saying: I am not going to eat a lot of protein or carbs until I lose weight, and then I'll start eating some again, you have to figure out which proteins and carbs you can eat, and how much, every day of your life, and still slowly lose weight until you're at a healthy weight. Then you can continue with your new way of eating and not gain the weight back.

For example, you might eat a salad with chicken and only a little dressing and a piece of high-fiber bread or something similar, instead of the pizza you used to eat. And after the weight is gone, still eat this same salad most days.

Or learn to eat only ONE piece of pizza and a bunch of veggies every time you eat pizza for the rest of your life.

Instead of cutting out bread temporarily, start buying high fiber bread and eat smaller pieces, and vow to do this healthier alternative from now on, instead of cutting bread out entirely.

Then when you are craving that wonderful Italian bread at your favorite restaurant, you can occasionally let yourself have a piece without feeling guilty, because the rest the time, you're eating healthy bread.

See what I'm saying? If you learn to eat a lot of fiber (fruits, veggies, beans, high fiber breads) and drink only water and unsweetened iced-tea for most of your meals for the rest of your life, you can still indulge occasionally (within reason) and since you now have a permanently more healthy eating plan, you will probably fare better than a diet in the long run.

I also think you NEED protein and complex carbs (beans, high fiber bread, salads) to feel full. Protein is great in the morning to stay alert and get your metabolism going, and high fiber snacks every few hours (apple slices, carrots, high fiber bread with organic peanut butter, half a home-baked bran muffin, oranges, grapes, etc.) with a glass of water will help you feel full.

Just my opinion, but I have just found that with diets or temporary eating plants, as soon as the diet is over, the weight comes back immediately. I only have luck making changes I'm will to make permanent, and that means not cutting anything out but instead, eating healthier versions OR smaller portions OR eating the junk food less often but still often enough that I feel I can make it permanent.

Best of luck to you!
