The problem is:
A 12kg block is given a quick push so it has an initial speed of 5.0m/s up a 33 degree inclined plane. The coefficient of friction between the block and the plane is 0.16.
a. How far up the plane will it go? (a: 1.88m)
b. How much time elapses before it returns to the starting point? (a: 1.72s)
I know what the answers are but i don't know how to get there. Apparently Applied force (Fa) = 0N. So what would the system equation look like and why is Fa = 0? Doesn't a quick push mean that force is applied?
