why didn’t the United States enter the war earlier?
what events pushed the United States to enter the war?
why did the United States enter on the side of the Allies?

Please don't go on about how I need to do my own school work. I've tried to do my own research and WW2 confuses me. Could you please help me, and make it more clearer?
