75% of the time, they're down the middle. I find...
1. If I use the d-pad too early, it goes down the middle. I must press the d-pad RIGHT before throwing the pitch. There seems to be a smaller window the higher my level goes (I'm over 1300 right now).
2. If I throw the same pitch in the same location 2 times in a row, the 3rd time it will always be down the middle. I noticed this when I was at about level 1000.
Bonus points if anyone can tell me why the documentation for the game is so pathetically lacking, as well.
