...Please I need some help? I've never been good with history and well yeah...I'm writing an essay and this is my prompt

Explain how 3 of the following influenced the development of the last West from the 1850s to 1900. (Miners, Cattleman, Farmers, Immigrants, Cities)

I choose to write about Miners, Cattleman and Farmers. I already have enough on Miners but I can't think of things for Cattleman and Farmers. This is what I have so far..

Cattleman
*Joseph McCoy realized the profit in stockyards to ship cattle to other cities to chicago
*Cattle drives came to and end in 1880s because of overgrazing and a winter blizzard

Farmers
*Homestead Act
*Caused growth in population
*Build Homes of Sod bricks
*Invention of barbed wire
*Dams and Irrigration

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Ps. I'm not asking anyone to do this for me. I would just like help with the info, I've looked but I'm stuck. v v

Thanks
