Why do children appear so frequently in poetry (in Blakes and Wordsworth work specfically)...?Does the purpose of the child in each of these poems the same or does it differ from poem to poem?

Its for a school paper, and I"m having trouble answering those two
I'm choosing 4 poems that i must connect
Little Black Child
We are Seven

The Chimney Sweeper in songs of Innocence
and Three Years she grew

For the most part, children represent innocence. I would have to know which poems you are talking about to help you more... But go with the innocence idea. What aspects of Romantic Poetry value innocence?
