In the novel Fifth Business, how does 'Individuation' come into play?

I'm having trouble with a question posed by the English teacher. Can anyone help? The novel is Fifth Business, by Robertson Davies. Here is the question:

Through his memoir to the headmaster, Dunstan Ramsay describes a personal journey toward a state that Karl Jung referred to as individuation.
Describe the changes that took place in Ramsay over his lifetime and incorperate the following Jungian terms: shadow self, personality, persona.
