...Anyone else feel this way? Yeah so I totally dream of one day having an entire room in my future house dedicated to being converted into a personal library.
However, in order to catalogue this possibly-dizzying amount of books, I soooooo want to use one of those library-type pen scanners that scan barcodes and read the info.
Right now, I totally have one of those "Personal Library Kits" with the old-school pocket-and-card-signout things with a rubber stamp and everything....
Anyway, I want to know if anyone else here is as ridiculously book-nerdy as I am? I need to know! We must stand strong in our bookish nerdism.
In the world of HP, I'm totally Madame Pince... though slightly less meanly-insane.
Btw it's like 4 AM where I am, so I'm reeeaaally tired, so I'm sorry if this question is super-duper random and weird, but oh well.
Kat: well I hope you find one soon!
Apple Frost: Aw that's sweet. Books on the ceiling would freak my out a bit... I'd be waiting for something to hit my head.
Kathryn: Ahhh you misunderstand me. I love reading darling, and that's why I want a library. It's just one of those things where I would enjoy scanning things purely for the fun of it. I sometimes go through stores like Walmart where they have those price-checkers and scan things for the hell of it. I also enjoy self-checkouts at grocery stores... XD
Elvendork: Power to the nerds ;D
ghosts_at_large: You too mistake me. I TOTALLY want an old-school mahogany-wood feel to my library, complete with an old-style writing desk and a quill and ink and parchment ;D In fact, I once bought a glass chess set JUST to keep around for the day when I would have my own library. Anyway, I have friends who sometimes like borrowing my books, hence the need for one.
Also, I'd keep the computer out of the room to eliminate any technical noise ;D
