to be sold as mortgage backed securities. Was it the bank or company issuing th mortgages in the first place that would transfer them to an SPE or SIV, pool them together and sell them? Or would they sell the rights to the mortgages to an investment bank and these would pool them together and sell them as mortgage backed securities? Thank you
