putting Bush in office? As can be seen in the movie Farenheit 9-11, when then Vice President Al Gore (acting as congressional leader) commenced the confirmation of Bush as the new president, several members of the House voiced their objections. However, not one senator had signed the objection in order to validate it.

How come the members of the Senate chose to not endorse the objection? Al Gore won the popular vote.

I would assume it's bad politics to instantly go up against the new pres, especially if he turns out to do a decent job (not that Bush did).

It's the same reason Congress let him declare war, even though the pres isn't allowed to. If it succeeds, they can claim that's why they let him do it. If if fails, it's his fault.

This is why Congress has the lowest approval rating in history. They don't WANT the power to do anything.

BTW, don't listen to M. Moore...he'll give you just as twisted a story as anyone.

Because No One could ever stand Gore, the freak.

Especially the Clintons. They treated him like dirt.

As they should have.

Even many Democrat Senators was happy that Bush won.
