Some chaps at work were talking about football today and I had a random thought. If you support Liverpool F.C., for instance, and over five years they replace all the players, the manager, and move grounds, what is there left of Liverpool F.C.?
If you were born in Liverpool, or you were brought up in a fanatical LFC household (or you wanted to be associated with a winning team when you were choosing one- in which case you would be MUFC, and probably a southerner-) it would be understandable, but it doesn't answer my basic question; what are you supporting?
I follow motorbikes, tennis and occasionally snooker. In these you follow the player, and admire their skill, but in football the same chap you were praising one week could be sold to a competitor the following and become evil incarnate, apparently.
If anyone has a reasoned answer, as opposed to support or condemnation of a particular club, I would be very grateful.
Ta, Buck.
